Apparently the car was in an accident before I bought it. They would no longer honor warranty for my car. They did the recall work, took them 3 days - worth the wait cause the driveability is 100% improved.Īnyways they said they have very bad news for me. They never charged me for checking, it was under warranty.Īt 59000 kilometers I took it in to have the 3rd recall done for the PCV and for them to check the howling coming from the front end and my pre-mature rusty rotors causing unnecessary squeals. They ended up saying it was the drain plug washer. They had to run dye in it and for me to bring it back again in a couple of days. A week later they installed it free under warranty.Īt that time I had them check for an oil leak which looks like it was coming from the valve cover. The part didn't fix it so they said they'd have to order a catalytic convertor. ![]() Told me I could drive it till the part comes in. They weren't sure exactly what it was but ordered something for it. I had it 2 weeks and the check engine light came. Prior to purchase I contacted the dealer to see what warranty was remaining on car. Purchased used thru private seller 2 years ago with 48 000 kilometers. Now they are not sure if or when the correct part will come in. They cannot give me any better info than the dealership. The gave us a loaner and told us to keep it until they have ours fixed. They received a part 3 weeks later, but it was not the right part. They were assured it would be overnight-ed from Canada, and it should arrive it 3 days. At the dealership it only took the tech 1 day to figure out what was wrong with it. We took it to 3 shops, before finally talking it to a dealership. My husband would get out and jiggle the battery cable and then it would start. In January the car started dying while we were driving down the street, and not starting 80% of the time. We had no problems, except that the clock never said the right time no matter how many times we reset it. It was used, but only had 5,000 miles on it. We are done with this Aveo 5!.We purchased a Chevy Aveo back in 2004. Please help us, we bought this car for road trips around north America, we clearly would be risking our lives doing hwy posted speeds that are as high as 80 miles per hour in some states. Service refused veiwing our video of our highway driving, tired of gm service "loop hole excuses" gammot runaround system & getting know results. 11 failed attempts on our part/in letters to gm ceo's about our saftey concerns-no response, interst or reply back. ![]() Front end groans harshly when driving over dips in road our speed bumps. Air bag warning light goes off & on when it wants, with people in both front seats. Freezing outdoor temperatures, defroster fails, needs hand toweling, excessive moisture & frozen ice on all inside windows set on "defrost/ fresh air/ high fan/ medium high heat, even after 1 hour still very humid & wet. Roof howls & vibrates, we fear that roof will detach & blow off. Highway driving is extremely scary, cannot drive at "posted speed limits in north America. There should be a recall on this problem - srs / airbag warning light staying on - safety related failure - chevy knows about this by now for sure -.Ģ007 Aveo 5, new purchase in April 2008. Will be contacting them on this srs airbag warning light problem - but worried they are not really knowledgeable on it. 5 volts - I'm worried dealer (hawthorne Chevrolet - hawthorne NJ) will actually not know the extensive issue with chevy Aveo airbag warning light coming on - and will wrongly diagnose and try to charge big bucks - and problem will return - this is a safety issue - since with airbag warning light staying on - srs airbag system will not operate, no airbag protection - I have also now contacted Chevrolet on this subject / problem - waiting for their reply - located in northern NJ - hawthorne Chevrolet would be the proper dealership - (I purchased the car there - 10 years ago - they have serviced the car for routine repairs). ![]() Battery strong / good / new - 1 year old - 13. All pretensioners are proper (2 ohms circuit resistance). Driver's side shows both stage 1 and stage 2. It's most likely either the clock module - which passes the passenger side airbag signals to the main srs controller, the srs controller module (located under center shift console area) or the passenger side airbag itself - code scanner only sees passenger side airbag stage 2 - (no stage 1 seen). 2008 chevy Aveo sedan - kl1td56668b011506 - airbag warning light remains on at all times - no body codes are present / detected - (using foxwell elite nt630 scanner which claims to read / clear airbag codes) - I've already researched this issue - "mucho problemos" - with over half of all chevy Aveo complaints including aribag warning light remains on.
